Brandt KD 56

The Brandt KD 56 edgebander has been the most sold edgebanding machine from Brandt until then. The KD 56 was manufactured by the German manufacturer BRANDT Krantentechnik GmbH, which is the edging specialist in the HOMAG Group. With more than 50 years of experience, Brandt is now the worldwide market leader in the edge banding machines segment.

The KD series from Brandt correspond to edgebanders for crafts and small industrial firms for the full processing of workpiece edges. Among them, the KD 50 series were produced from 1993 to 2004. They combined all aggregates necessary for edgebanding and reworking in short machines. They have been marked by the change of the machine color from green-white to white in 1995.

The Brandt Optimat KD 56 has a edge thickness capacity from 0.4 to 3 mm and a panel thickness capacity from 8 to 40 mm. It is equipped with an automatic coil and strip feed magazine and a strenghtened precutter (or guillotine) for 3 mm PVC banding.

The KD 56 edge banding machine features:

• a double motor end trimming unit;
• a top and bottom fine trimming unit with 2 trimming motors;
• a top and bottom profile scraper for finishing of roughly trimmed thick PVC edgings to remove the trimming marks;
• a top and bottom buffing unit with 2 motors;
• a hot melt granulate glue application system with glue pot and quick heat up time.

The Brandt KD 56 edge banding machine is also equipped with an automatic height adjustment with top pressure beam, a digital height indicator on holddown beam, electronic motor brakes on trimmers, a control panel at eye-level for operator convenience, an electronic line control, and an electronic frequency inverter for all trimming motors.
