Cleaning plants are used to prepare intermediary or end products, which will be further processed or sold.

    Different types of Cleaning Equipment

Commercial Cleaning Equipment is a intermediary station used during the industrial production of products. They are particularly important after cutting processes, because finished products are usually covered in dust, chippings and cooling lubricant. A clean surface is particularly important for coating processes; adhesive dirt or solvents can prevent the coat from being successfully applied. There is always the risk that the customer will find the dirt on the workpiece, if it is not removed during the production process.

The production of industrially processed components always contains a certain degree of contamination. Lubricants are necessary for the diverse technical processes but they will stick to the intermediary and end products until they are intentionally removed. The thorough and intent cleaning of a product can reduce the level of contamination of the entire process, depending on the work step. This ensures that contamination, and the loss of quality of the workpiece as a result, is prevented. Milled products have particularly high levels of contamination, even though milling machines are always equipped with extraction and cleaning systems. There are always bits of waste material, including chippings and dust located on the finished products, which can have negative consequences on any further processes. In order to reliably remove these pieces of contamination, the industry has a variety of solutions for cleaning intermediary and end products with duct cleaning equipment.

    Cleaning after production process

    Industrial Cleaning Machines : Structure

There are a variety of designs for a cleaning system and these are commonly based on the what material needs to be cleaned. With products that are sensitive to humidity, water, solvents and emulsions cannot be used. Therefore, wood products are cleaned using compressed air and extraction units. However, these products also usually require a manual clean. There are a variety of diverse cleaning agents available for non-absorbent workpieces. Additionally, warm, ultrasonic, mechanical processes and special solutions can be used during the rinsing process. Oiled products can only be cleaned with solvents containing soap or gasoline. It is important to know the exact composition of the workpiece surface and the cleaning agents. Veneered surfaces, for example, cannot be cleaned using agents containing gasoline. These solvents are expensive to dispose of, because they are a problem material.

One of the biggest challenges of cleaning plants is to remove contaminated cleaning agents. Nowadays, there are several solutions available: filter systems that reduce the amount of cleaning agent required; and preparation processes that can transform solvents to make them useable again. Lastly, cleaning agents containing gasoline can be burned in specially fitted machines and can be used as a heat source.

The rinsing cleaning plants operate in a similar way to household dishwashers. Small products that are easily scratched are often cleaned in drum sieves. Fragile products like mechanical components are placed into custom-fit baskets so that they do not touch each other and can still be fully rinsed by the cleaning agent. The defined measurements and weight of the baskets means that industrial robots can be used to load these cleaning plants. The cleaning process is integrated into industrial production and commonly runs automatically.

Brushes and textiles can be used as an additional, mechanical process to erode contaminated particles. These can be used to supplement chemical cleaning processes. Hand cleaning stations can be used for manual cleaning of contaminated workpieces.

Cleaning system in metal working industry

Paint stripping systems are used to clean the mounting hooks on lacquered and power coating lines. These hooks are continually guided through the coating machines, which is why they always retain a thick layer of veneer or plastic powder, up to the point where they can no longer be used. The paint stripping systems are used to remove this layer so that the hooks can be used again. A particularly sharp cleaning material is used for this process, which then needs to be removed, before the hooks can be handled by workers. Therefore, cleaning processes are also commonly required after the initial cleaning process. Sometimes several cleaning stages are required; this also includes the final drying stage.

The company VIBRO-TEC from Unna has an innovative application for efficiently removing oil and lubricant, without producing even more waste material. Instead of using cleaning agents, the products are rinsed with a normal, industrial cooling lubricant and then finally cleaned with ultra fast vibrations. The cooling lubricant can be used as often as needed and does not get dirty during the cleaning process. This process prevents the otherwise necessary removal costs of contaminated cleaning liquids, without reducing the quality of the cleaning process.

    Working with a Cleaning Plant

Loading and unloading the products in a cleaning plant is generally unproblematic. When operating a cleaning machine it is necessary to wear protective clothing, including respiratory protection. Depending on the situation, the cleaning process can also be undertaken by industrial robots or integrated feeding systems. Continuous cleaning can be used to ensure defined conditions for the products. For a high-end and high quality orientated mass production processes, cleaning the intermediary and end products is a deciding factor.

    Suppliers of cleaning plants

Manual cleaning plants are available from the companies MICHAEL LANG WERKZEUGMASCHINEN, SNIJSTAAL Fabricage and WÄCHTER. The cleaning plants manufactured by MICHAEL LANG WERKZEUGMASCHINEN are fully encased, which prevents any cleaning agents from coming in contact with a worker’s skin. Cleaning stations used to continually clean series products are available from the companies UNICLEAN, HTK-REINIGUNSANLAGEN, IBW and VIBRO-TEC. The company GOTTSCHILD specialises itself on producing cleaning plants with integrated conveyor belts. The company GEORG RENDER has particularly compact cleaning plants that are suited for small components. Particularly efficient ultrasonic cleaning systems are available from BVL, DESONIC and SONOTOP. Paint systems are available from HAUG HEMIE, ROSINK GMBH and SMITO.
