The Ford 2000 tractor was produced from 1962 to 1975, first as a four-cylinder model (1962-1965) based on the British "Fordson Dexta", and then as a three-cylinder Ford 2000 (1965-1975). Since early in the 19th century, Henry Ford has a personel interest in providing affordable tractors such as compact utility tractors to small farmers. After agreeing to build tracors with the Ferguson system, Ford purchased New-Holland in 1985, before being sold to FIAT in 1991.
The last version of Ford 2000 is equipped with a liquid-cooled 36 hp (26.8 kW) gas engine and a 4-speed gear transmission with over/under. It features a 3-point hitch, a front bumper, a power steering and a 4x2 2WD chassis. The Ford 2000 utility tractor has an approximative weight of 3,770 lbs (1710 kg) and a 75.8 in (192 cm) wheelbase. With a rear PTO speed of 540 rpm, the tractor also includes a differential lock.
