The history of GILDEMEISTER

The locksmith master, Friedrich Gildemeister, founded the “Werkzeugmaschinenfabrik Gildemeister & Comp” in Bielefeld (Germany) on October 1, 1870. In the next decade the factory expanded to include more industrial halls and was located where the current city hall is for 100 years. In 1976, the company moved to the Gildemeisterstraße. In March 2009, GILDEMEISTER signed a corporation agreement with the machine tool manufacturer, Mori Seiki Co. Ltd (based in Nagoya, Japan). This was responsible for production, sales, procurement, service, research and development, as well as making customer financing available worldwide. In 2013 MORI SEIKI and GILDEMEISTER signed an agreement to change their names to something more suitable. GILDEMEISTER Aktiengesellschaft became the DMG Mori Seiki Ltd., and since them Mori Seiki has been called DMG Mori Seiki Company Ltd.

In their service branch, GILDEMEISTER provides service products and other services around the life cycle of the machine tools and the sales of Mori Seiki's machines. Their energy solutions business branch includes solutions for generation, saving and use in industrial facilities, and large photovoltaic systems for investors.
