An impressive company history - HOMAG

In 1960, Eugen Hornberger, Gerhard Schuler and a blacksmith lay the foundation for the company HOMAG Holzbearbeitungssysteme GmbH. In 1962, HOMAG was already a sensation in the woodworking industry, as they presented their innovative edge banding machine at a convention in Hamburg. This was patented with a hot-cold process. Five years later, HOMAG AG introduced their next revolutionary piece: a combined format and edge banding machine. Within the next year, the company's story follows a number of more state of the art inventions. These machines are an important part of HOMAG's success. Today the company has more than 800 industrial property rights. Additionally, targeted corporate investments and acquisitions were largely responsible for their growth. This is how the current HOMAG Group AG is in the position to provide a unique product range, which covers the entire product chain of its customers. Furthermore, in the 1970s HOMAG Group Germany developed a strategy to secure the international market, by building tight networks and connections worldwide. Furthermore, almost 80% of the company's turnover comes from oversees; equipment and machines are exported to more than 100 countries. This is how HOMAG was able to establish itself as the world market leader.
