Otto NUSSBAUM GmbH & Co. KG is a German company which manufactures equipment for use in the automobile manufacturing and maintenance sectors. The firm was founded in 1943 by Otto NUSSBAUM as a components manufacturer, but branched out into the production of specialist vehicle lifts in 1975. The company played an important role in the introduction of new vehicle lift technologies during the 1980s, such as the UNI scissors lift, introduced in 1983. NUSSBAUM then unveiled the world's first double scissors lift in 1985, with its popular Jumbo range (selling 110,000 units by 2000). After this success, the company expanded its production facilities, opening new factories in Magdeburg and Leipzig between 1992 and 1994 alongside its older facility in Bordersweier. Further innovation followed this expansion, with the company introducing its revolutionary smart towers in 1997, which found instant favour with customers across Europe.

In 2004, NUSSBAUM made a significant move by opening its sheet metals business, and continued to innovate, winning industry awards for its axis measuring robots. A huge new logistics centre was opened in 2007, while the company developed new products for use in the maintenance of trains and new products were added to the firm's portfolio in the areas of tyres and power lifts. By 2012, the company had consolidated a position as a leading international provider of automobile and train maintenance equipment, but had remained a family owned operation. It employs around 1,200 people at seven German factories, and operates a global distribution and support network to bring in new customers. Recent developments have focused on providing all-in-one solutions such as the Car Satellite system, which mixes car servicing and petrol/gas provision in one platform, allowing customers to achieve more efficient vehicle maintenance.
