The Italian company RUPES manufactures power tools and dust extraction machinery for industrial clients. RUPES SpA was founded in Milan in 1947 and initially found fame as a manufacturer of some of Italy's finest electrical sanders. The firm then introduced their innovative range of light-weight electrical drills with polymer casings instead of bulky metal. This innovation continued with the introduction of a revolutionary new orbital sander in 1968 and the production of industrial dust extractors from 1969. During the 1970s, RUPES Tools opted to focus on making their tools as easy to use as possible, creating popular models such as their electric palm orbital sander which could be easily operated with one hand alone. In the late 1970s and 80s, RUPES SpA focused closely on building some of the most effective dust extraction systems yet seen, introducing innovations such as centralized vacuum extraction systems and mobile trolleys that could be used anywhere in the workplace.

Continual innovation and collaboration to drive changes

The pace of technological change did not decelerate in the 1990s, with new compact models of polisher and improvements to the firm's renowned electrical motors. The firm's factory facilities became almost wholly automated, improving efficiency, and RUPES entered new areas such as the production of modular container systems for workshops and factories. Tools were also introduced specifically for the construction and masonry trades, as well as fully customizable, portable orbital sanders. Because of its success, RUPES Tools has acquired a huge network of distributors with sales taking place across the world. The firm has also chosen to partner with major industrial firms such as 3M in developing research facilities, and has also chosen to maintain a rigorous system of checks before any RUPES SpA product enters the marketplace.
