History of THWAITES
THWAITES has always been based in Birmingham, a city renowned for its expertise in heavy manufacturing. From the very beginning, this family-run firm has specialised in dumpers aimed at the construction industry, and it is this focus that gives it its strength in the market today. In the 1970s, the best-selling THWAITES Ltd model was the 2 tonne four wheel drive model, while today its most popular machine is the advanced 6 tonne, fitted with the company's power swivel, which allows the operator to tip a load to either side, allowing for maximum flexibility on site. Over the years, THWAITES has expanded its manufacturing facilities, allowing for computerised design and an advanced production line to allow for maximum quality. The use of low emission Yanmar diesel engines gives the dumper range power, economy and meets environmental requirements. Operator ergonomics are key to the THWAITES Ltd philosophy, with reduced sound levels and improved control and pedal layout. Electrical components are water resistant, to allow THWAITES dumpersto operate in all conditions.
